More close encounters with the tunnels

Starting to feel like Ahab here. Consulting with an old downtown hotel attached to the old service tunnels that run under Los Angeles, I was offered a tour on the spot. I saw their entrance to the underground network, sadly sealed with a concrete kiss.

But I got to see these monsters. Two old boiler rooms. Take a look at the huge one. Still operating, folks. This monstrous engine from before flappers and ragtime, still powering a big damn building. Fairly well boggles.
Tomorrow we get to check out a connected speakeasy with original murals still intact (EDIT: No we don't. That's been delayed, but there's 100 year old Dutch carvings that have been hidden in downtown that we photographed. More soon.)

I won't tolerate any bullshit here, including anything to do with BBoy culture.
